@ Joseph - I highly doubt G can identify a link farm as we humans can.  As what Bruce mentioned, G base it all on their algo.  I even came across a link farm that has PR, picture that :)</description>

For example many top ranked websites for very competitive terms buy thousands of backlinks, which even matt cutts said will get your site in trouble, and they are still in the top 3 positions after several months.</description>
